Lessons Learned
Lessons Learned
In April 2018, we launched our inaugural call for proposals, Lessons Learned from Engaging with Communities. The foundation funded 85 organizations to share insights and effective strategies for engaging place- and identity-based communities to improve racial justice.
To support our collective work, we summarized what we heard and recommendations in the Lessons Learned report. Read the report for examples of how organizations are building collective power, advancing community-led solutions, transforming organizational culture, deepening accountability, and strengthening democracy.

Community reports
From Native-led efforts to revitalize the Salish languages spoken in the Columbian plateau to Black-led groups working to build community wealth in the face of displacement, organizations describe how they are engaging those most impacted by injustices to create community-led solutions. We are grateful to the organizations who have provided us permission to share their stories, insights, and perspectives.
