Welcome new team members pictured left to right, Dakota Hankin, Mitchell Chen, and Meron Kasahun.

This spring we were pleased to welcome three new members to our team. Representing Jefferson and King Counties, our new colleagues are strengthening our ability to reach and serve the communities we are accountable to. From grants management to day-to-day administration , we are so grateful to work alongside each of these talented and committed individuals. Read on to meet our new team members and visit the hyperlinks for each person to learn more about their roles, communities, and backgrounds.

Dakota Hankin (she/her) joins us as a Grants & Data Administrator. Based in Jefferson County, she brings more than 15 years of experience in grant administration, program management, and data systems. Kind, quirky, and supportive, Dakota belongs to a community of builders, makers, artists, activists, and thinkers. She enjoys reading, hiking, backpacking, sailing, and creating art—whether drawing, gardening, or learning new skills like metalsmithing.

Mitchell Chen (he/him) returns to Inatai Foundation as Benefits & Payroll Administrator, managing employee benefits and payroll, ensuring that benefit programs are equitable, accessible, and well-utilized by the Inatai team. Thoughtful, authentic, and caring, he returns having formerly served as Human Resources Manager where he supported recruitment and culture-building efforts. Based in King County, Mitchell’s favorite place in Washington is Deception Pass where he has memories of family camping trips.

Meron Kasahun (she/her) is a Grants Manager who ensures that grantmaking operations align with and advance Inatai’s values and fierce commitment to centering grantees in our work. Based in King County, Meron belongs to the Ethiopian-American and African-American communities that are part of the larger East African diaspora in the Pacific Northwest. Crafty, creative, and curious, she can often be found DIY-ing something new or at her local library branch.
