As a Program Officer on the Strategy & Impact team, Karen fosters and maintains relationships with regional and national philanthropic partners and grantees to advance the foundation’s evolving grantmaking and advocacy strategies in Washington. Karen brings with her deep experience and passion for serving communities, most recently serving as the Environmental Justice Management Analyst Supervisor in the State Department of Commerce. For over two years, Karen was also the Executive Director of the North Central Washington Economic Development District.
Currently, Karen serves as a founding board member for the North Central Washington Equity Alliance and as a board member and performer with the Dangerous Women theater collective in Leavenworth, where she is currently based. She holds a law degree from the Michigan State University College of Law.
When she’s not working, volunteering, or fixing up her house, Karen loves traveling with her daughter and their dog.
