As Community Engagement Manager, Raúl is a connector between the foundation and the communities Inatai Foundation is accountable to. He leads efforts to build new relationships with leaders and organizations that are building power for racial justice and equity across Washington.
Prior to joining Inatai, Raúl served as an External Affairs Manager for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources where he worked to connect the department with historically underserved people and share emergency preparedness information. He brings extensive experience connecting with diverse communities, having also worked as a Bilingual Education Specialist for the Yakima County Auditor’s Office.
Raúl is grounded in the Yakima Valley, and his lived experiences are foundational to his career. His appreciation for his community has led him to serve on several boards including the Latino Community Fund of Washington, Yakima Greenway, and Triumph Treatment Services. Raúl also sits on the Yakima County Planning Commission.
